A New Beginning
Submitted by JavaQueen2000 on Thu, 2009-02-12 06:14. PoemsAs I began this new quest the fear begins to rise.
Turmoil and strife arises.
As the emptiness I felt is now filled with an unexplainable emotion.
My heart is in tune with my body.
I push forward knowing that the release will soon be over
The gentle sound softens my emotions.
I touch the new born life I've brought forth a feeling of warmth taking me over
The gentle touch
A soft cry
The release of the fear
A feeling of protection
I push forward knowing that I must save the life I created.
As you begin to grow I know that you are my world
You are my soul
The work is just beginning
Eyes Wide Open
Submitted by JavaQueen2000 on Fri, 2008-08-01 05:34. PoemsEyes Wide Open
The wide open space is filled with the gentle ocean spray.
The smell of fresh air permeated the air.
The feel of the warm sun caressed my skin.
I sat watching the surf crashing into the cliff’s below.
As I heard the clandestine chorus of the seagulls confer with each other
as they fished for their evening meal.
My eyes are wide open.
My mind is free to capture the pleasure in the tranquility of nature.
Nature on the edge of living life to it’s the fullest.
I feel their energy surging through my body.
Like their crescendo, emotions surface, crashing into my tranquil mind.
Orchestra of Clicks
Submitted by Hela on Thu, 2008-05-15 15:58. PoemsClick, click, click,
Some are fast,
Some are faster,
Some are fastest,
Speeding through the time called thought.
My ears ache from the massive echoes of clicks crowding me,
The phones fighting them,
French words singing,
Brazilian words dancing,
Good morning words enchanting,
English words saying,
To Laura
Submitted by Hela on Tue, 2008-03-11 22:35. PoemsThe time has come and you have said good-bye
to me my mommy,
May all you dreams come alive
in that world that is such a mystery to us all,
I’ll be waiting for you in my dreams tonight,
eager and ready to listen to a new story each and every night.
I'm Wired
Submitted by Hela on Tue, 2008-02-19 14:32. PoemsBlack wires,
Grey wires,
Blue wires,
I'm surrounded by wires
all day and all night.
Curly wires,
Straight wires,
Yellow wires,
Leave me be and let me
live my life unwired.
Rambling Thoughts
Submitted by JavaQueen2000 on Mon, 2007-12-03 06:51. PoemsWho ever said that Life is a Bowl of Cherries never knew me.
What does that mean?
Oh, yea sometimes you get pits.
Well lately all I have are pits.
I want to change fruits.
How about a nice Kiwi.
Sweet, soft delicious.
And GREEN.
I want my life to be a bowl of Kiwi.
Problem.
You need to move fast they don't last long.
Ringing of the Cups
Submitted by Hela on Thu, 2007-11-29 15:58. Poems
I can hear them ringing as I walk down the runway of my office life.
Walls of cubes.
Grey matter.
I can hear the clickety ring of the cups that are holding me together. They are the reminders that life is still alive around that corner. Just make that turn. You will find life light and joy.
Follow the ring.
From the depths of innocence and virtue
Submitted by The Doc on Sat, 2007-03-24 12:05. PoemsA good friend of mine just wrote about the hardships of being a doctor... It made me rethink all the reasons why I am in this profession. I browsed through my old work files and I found this poem I wrote as a requirement during my psychiatry rotation. I decided to blog it here so that I'll have a reminder of how and why am I in this profession and on where it's leading me to...
From the depths of innocence and virtue,
A soul sought to give meaning and life to another.
In so doing, be able to discover the sense and purpose of its own
Not for wealth nor for fame, but for humanity and what it stood for.
Losing to Gain
Submitted by The Doc on Sat, 2007-03-24 12:01. PoemsLosing to Gain
(the end of a moment which lasted for an eternity)
A chapter has unfolded beyond control
with all respite and resistance,
to stick with status quo was the goal
the uncertainty of an end met with hesitance.
But as sure as the arrival of a new day
the change of heart was an inevitable force,
of a once fairy tale story turned into a tragedy
no alchemy nor emotions could stop the course.
The life i cherished erstwhile,
with an angel, sharing a love so sweet
seemingly perfect but fallen all the same,
discarded like dew drops on the edge of a leaf
with no one to see the last drop fall in vain.
My New Home
Submitted by The Doc on Sat, 2007-03-24 11:58. PoemsAmidst the blanket of white and cold
the city slumbers for but a second,
with the passion and dreams I hold
the promise of tomorrow beckons.
In the land that never sleeps, I roam
every step, every corner
is a new experience on its own
bringing lives together to linger.
Lights flicker like fireflies dancing
in the mysterious darkness of the evening.
fleetingly the world seems to revolve
in this new place I call home.
